This workshop will introduce you to the basics of natural dye.Including techniques for preparing fabrics, mordanting,
modifiers, bundle dying, and eco printing. All supplies will be provided to create your own bundle dyed piece. There will be prepared natural fibers for you to choose from along with plant materials for dying (but feel free to bring plants). Participants will beginpieces (that you can easily finish at home) and information packets to continue your exploration of natural dyeing.
Sydney is a multidisciplinary artist who has been exploring the world of natural dye for the last few years. She believes the uncertainty of working with natural materials ,while sometimes frustrating, is also part of the charm! “Natural dyes are such an interesting way to engage with the natural world that can be incredibly rewarding“
