Mindful Felting - Felted Soap

  • Art Equals Studio 321 W. MLK Blvd. Covington, KY (map)

Learn how to creatively tap into your senses while reconnecting with your playful side in this technique workshop for wet felting. Being able to ground ourselves to the present moment can be an important part of a mindfulness practice, important for mental resilience. Wet felting offers us the opportunity to slow down and bring awareness to touch, smell, sound, and internal rhythms, all while learning to create beautiful fiber art.

In this workshop you’ll learn basic techniques for felting a bar of soap. Wet felting is a process by which natural wool is turned into strong functional fabric. You’ll also learn how to use this creative process to practice a creative meditation that can help calm the body and mind. All abilities and skill levels are welcome.
