Backstrap Weaving

  • Art Equals Studio (map)

Weave with an assist from your own body. This style of weaving uses your body as a counterweight to give tension for your weaving project. This class will teach you how to use a small ridged heddle reed and two tension points to create simple strap weavings that can be used for belts or bag handles.

No prior weaving skills required. All skills & abilities welcome. Participants are asked to bring a large bandana that can be wrapped around the waist or a soft belt-like strap that is long enough to go around the waist and allow for a connection to a dowel.

Registration is Required. Suggested $35*

Deadline to register: March 18th - 10am
